I am trying out this new thing where I post stuff on flickr and I can post it straight to my blog. We’ll see how it works. This is one of my favorite images right now, one I took on the Timpanogas camping trip with Dad in October of this year…

well, I don’t have too much to write, but I DID apply for housing today, so thats pretty cool. For some reason I put it off for a while, but it feels so good to have it done. I hope to get the ‘ensuite’ at the Balaclava apts, they’re about a 5 min walk from campus.

Balaclava Apts in Sydney

These are the Balaclava Apartments...the one I'm hopin' to get...

Today was pretty crazy tho, i had to drive from EUG to CORV on I5 in a snow storm, the first storm of the year. SOO sketchy. I just kinda stayed behind a big truck and took it slow…it was my first solo snow drivin experience. I left from Katie’s birthday party in EUG with the fam telling me to go…to get home before the weather got bad. That felt crappy, and I felt immature leaving frustrated and a little pissed. They gave me water and snack bars to make sure I could survive if something happened…(I know the Alaskans would laugh at me).  I had the Trooper, so it wasn’t too bad, had 4-wheel drive but no chains, and didnt slip barely at all.

We came back from Portland from the Jam earlier in the day and thats when the snow started…actually the nite before. dad was kinda freaked for drivin, and we had the chains on, but it was pretty chill. It dumped sno in Portland, but nothing in EUG. Pretty weird. And funny…we hadn’t had snow yet this year until now, the day we had to drive home from Portland…

Alright, I’ve got work tomorrow at 8 at VMAIL, and I didn’t want this to turn into just a general blog…aight, I’m out…….

Well, just got done with finals tonight and I’ll be heading to EUG tomorrow. It’s a pretty weird feeling, this is my one and only term at OSU this year, Australia is comin fast. I think the plane ticket is for around Feb 10 or so, and it’ll be open ended, so if I like it, who knows, maybe it’ll just be a one-way ticket! Excitement is starting to set in, as well as nervousness and fear. I talked to Sarah last night, who went to Thailand for a year, and she got me super-excited about it. She talked about how it’s gonna change my life and will make me a different person..I’m ready to change. Apparently I don’t have an identity, as it was proven that I am neither a “BRO” nor a “BRAH”.

Sydney should be pretty amazing tho. With a population of a little over 4 million people, it should be pretty crazy. I was checkin out the acts that are gonna be goin through there…pretty high-profile stuff, and they play at the Sydney Opera House, which should be pretty crazy. I’m also pretty stoked about the man shortage in Australia-96,900 more females than men. If I don’t become friendly with some, well, jeeze…I’ll never hear the end of it from BUX 307. Oh, and from now on, BUX 307 includes Big Red…just sayin’.

I think pretty much all I have to do now is apply for housing. I’ll prolly be livin in apartments with other international students from all over the world, which should be a cool experience. I’m not sure about a student visa…I should probably get on that.

It’s startin to feel like this is actually gonna happen-just little things like lookin at AUS travel books in Borders to lookin for boardshorts with my BUX brahs. And for all of those who incredulously asked “WHAT?! You’re not excited yet??…”, well, I’m gettin there, and its starting to feel real…
